I have lived in Moscow for a few years, the atmosphere of the orthodox Russian church, icons produce a great impression on me. This picture is the expression of my feelings: when I stand in front of the icon I feel the ultimate silence and then I feel great energy and enormous strength interacting with me.

The life began in the ocean. The water purifies us but it can also bring grief. But everything is in the Providence of the Nature. Also I was inspired by the deep blue color of a traditional Japanese kimono.

The painting was made under the impression of a Soviet movie "July Rain" of 1967. Also inspired by illusionary image of rain that we find in the Japanese woodblock prints "Ukiyo-e".
